By Road
Coming from London, come down the M3 to junction 9 (A303).
Stay in the left lane which becomes the A303. Proceed along the A303 for
4 miles. take the left slip road marked "A34 Winchester". at the
T-junction turn left, then left at the roundabout, signposted "Sutton
Scotney" and "South Wonston". Follow this road up to the mini-roundabout
opposite the Texaco petrol station, take the right hand exit (A30).
after 100 yards stay in the left lane and turn left at the roundabout.
Follow this road through Sutton Scotney, up the hill and on for 1 mile.
As the road widens at the top of the hill, turn left (signposted South
Wonston). This is DOWNS ROAD. Follow DOWNS ROAD for 1/4 mile, on your
left find No.19 (white rendered bungalow with white leaded windows).
Coming from Southampton, go up the M3, through the "Twyford
Gap", stay in the left lane and take A34 North at junction 10 of the M3.
Proceed up the A34 for 3 miles, then slip left to "A30 Stockbridge".
Stay in the right lane of the slip road, and join the short dual
carriageway to "Three Maids Hill" roundabout. Go all the way around this
roundabout and back over the A34 (in the right lane). Turn right at the
roundabout (Christmas Hill). Proceed for 3/4 mile, and turn right into
South Wonston "DOWNS ROAD" at the top of the hill. Follow DOWNS ROAD for
1/4 mile, on your left find No.19 (white rendered bungalow with white
leaded windows).
Coming from Oxford and the North, take the A34 south, bypass
Newbury on the A34, and leave the A34 going down a steep hill to slip
road for A303. Stay in the right lane of this slip road, and pass over
the roundabout bearing right, signposted "Sutton Scotney" and "South
Wonston". Follow this road up to the mini-roundabout opposite the Texaco
petrol station, take the right hand exit (A30). after 100 yards stay in
the left lane and turn left at the roundabout. Follow this road through
Sutton Scotney, up the hill and on for 1 mile. As the road widens at the
top of the hill, turn left (signposted South Wonston). This is DOWNS
ROAD. Follow DOWNS ROAD for 1/4 mile, on your left find No.19 (white
rendered bungalow with white leaded windows).
By Rail
Winchester station is approximately 5 miles (budget on £10 taxi fare).
